Volume 13 Author’s Notes
And just like that Volume 13 has come to end. I’d like to thank you for reading it, and if you haven’t yet, then please do leave me a comment. I also want to thank my wonderful proofreaders, their help made this story much, much better. Not to mention, they changed my mind about introducing an Original Character, which would have some pretty disastrous results. So, their help in making this story better is immeasurable.
As I look over the completed volume, I feel I had improved a great deal. If you compare Marv, from Volume 12 to Liel, from Volume 13. I feel Liel is a much better character, and also I somewhat botched an opportunity to expand on her interactions, she is still a much more appealing character than Marv (who?) So, I am pretty happy with such progress.
That said, I still have a long way to go in improving my writing. I am having issues writing interesting filler, I tend to rush the story, moving from one plot point to another, without taking the time to let the characters smell the roses. Combat scenes are still too technically detailed and confusing, while prolonged dialog tends to become boring and breaks up the story. There is also a question of how good are my original ideas are (I liked Fate, cliche as he was.) So, while this volume saw me make significant improvements, many questions still remain.
So, what’s coming up?
I am now writing “Volume 14: Unlikely Allies” which centers on the Slane Theocracy trying to put together a coalition of those who want the Sorcerer Kingdom gone. Along with some slice of life moments from the Draconic Kingdom, E-Rantel and more. I also have plans up to Volume 18, though Volume 16 could be seen as a canon ending.
I also want to write my own story. Granted, I am not anywhere near as creative as Maruyama, so my own story isn’t going to be even close to the gem that is Overlord. But hey, everyone got to start somewhere 🙂 I was going to do my own web serial, but there are some issues with such format. So, as my writing is still rapidly improving, I feel it’s more beneficial to write a stand-alone book. Going to be a litRPG book, got the settings and the starting plot in my mind, just need to flash things out now.
The current plan is to quickly write Volume 14, then write the abovementioned book while I release Volume 14 parts.
I look forward to reading your continuing work, I agree that your writing has improved and I appreciate your consistent release schedule.
Thank you for two great volumes, mate! I really enjoyed reading them.
I hope fillers will get easier for you, since Overlord’s slice of life episodes are my favorite xD
Keep it up and good luck!
Ciertamente me encantarÃa ver mas de esta novela, pero quiero como lector y compañero de esta comunidad amante de Overlord que lleves “tu historia” a niveles o direcciones que no se puedan predecir, suerte y los mejores deseos de éxito para ti.
I loved both the volumes and i really hope you’ll continue writing.
Oh and hey Pervy, I told you I’d have the last laugh in this volume.

MUHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
I really enjoyed your story’s honestly can’t wait till you release your own novel will it have the same theme as overlord? If so would you be up to have some ideas thrown at you
I am afraid coming up with such a large ensemble of diverse characters, all tied into a great backstory and an interesting world is impossible for me at this time. Maybe in the future, when I get mad skillz 🙂
For my first novel, I came up with a pretty good idea for the world setting and the starting plot, but the ending is a bit lacking. It’s going to be a litRPG (basically, fantasy but with game elements, like levels, stats, skills etc.) I’ll release more info about it as I begin to write it.
I am open to your ideas. Though I’ve come to realize that ideas are the easy part, bringing them to life in a well-written and engaging story, that’s the hard part. Still, you can email me your ideas at: jaconue 5.gmail.com (without the space.) It’s always interesting to see what ideas others have.
If You don’t mind me Asking, aare you thinking more of a Dark underworld bellow sunshine and rainbows Muti chapter plots, or a slice of life style chapter by chapter?
And thank you for the amazing two stories you have made.
I am actually not sure how to describe it. Adventure with some dark undertones, I suppose. It’s a typical litRPG set up – a guy joins a full immersion virtual mmorpg game in order to get revenge (this actually makes decent sense, given the story’s settings.) In the game he tries to get stronger, and also makes some friends and together they attempt to get their revenge.
Pretty straightforward. But, it’s my first original story, so I won’t be coming ut with War & Peace right out of the gates 🙂 I am hoping it will make for an entertaining read and will help he hone my writing skills further.
Thank you for continuing with this story, I really liked this volume although the previous one I liked more, I’ll be waiting for the next one.
Man. Im hooked. After reading the part where Sorcerous kingdom sent a letter stating declaration of war to reEstize with draconic kingdom seal on it in the official overlord vol.14, I straight googled “Overlord Draconic kingdom” and saw this fanfiction, I came here and start reading from vol.13 and the story is pretty good. I almost mistake this as official side story of how the sorcerous kingdom came to work together with draconic kingdom. Really good job
I love this!!!!!
What an awesome ride!
I’m thoroughly enjoying your writing and so glad they exist.
At the moment I’m binge reading through them and can tell how your writing is improving, the proofreaders did a great job too.
Thank you so much for this, keep up the good work and I’ll definitely be reading your original work also.
consider me sold!
